The relative humidity dropped from 78% to 52% within 48 hours. The wood moisture content, measured with a pin meter, fell from 19% to 12% - below the 15% threshold where mold thrives.
Spray Foam Insulation - New Construction, Schertz-Cibolo Border Near Converse
A builder near the Schertz border called us in during the rough-in phase of a 2,400-square-foot custom home. We sprayed Icynene open-cell foam in the walls and roof deck, achieving R-22 in the walls and R-38 in the attic - all in one monolithic layer that seals as it insulates. Radiant Barrier Installation - Converse Heights
A Converse Heights homeowner with a south-facing, unshaded roof was seeing attic temperatures of 148°F in August despite having R-30 blown-in fiberglass. We stapled Owens Corning radiant barrier to the roof deck rafters and added baffles to restore proper soffit ventilation. The peak attic temperature dropped to 112°F on the next 100°F day - a 36-degree difference that took significant load off the 14-year-old AC unit. Attic Air Sealing & Blown-In Top-Up - Woodlake, Converse
This 1994 Woodlake home had original R-19 fiberglass batts that had compressed to roughly R-13 and visible daylight around the chimney chase and recessed can lights. We pulled back the existing material, air-sealed every penetration with fire-rated foam and caulk, installed Tenmat covers over the cans, then blew in Knauf Jet Stream Ultra to R-49. The blower-door number started at 4,600 CFM50 - typical for a home this age with no prior air sealing - and finished at 2,400. The master bedroom, previously 8 degrees warmer than the thermostat setpoint in summer, now tracks within 2 degrees.
Wall Insulation & Exterior Retrofit - Old Town Converse
A 1962 Old Town Converse home had no wall insulation, which is common for that era in Bexar County. We drilled 2-inch holes at stud-bay spacing from the exterior, dense-packed each cavity with GreenFiber cellulose to R-13, then sealed the holes and matched the existing siding texture. The homeowner reported the wall surface temperature on the north side went from 58°F in January to 66°F - a measurable comfort difference you could feel standing next to it.
