Meet the Converse Team Behind Topside Attic Insulation Converse
We’re the crew that shows up in your driveway when your attic reads 140 degrees in July and your AC never catches up. Every person on this page has pulled fiberglass, run a blower door, and explained a written scope to a homeowner in Converse. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s that none of us will start a job without a written price, and none of us leave without a photo record. Wes Okafor set that expectation when he opened this location, and we enforce it on each other.

Wes Okafor, Owner & Lead Insulation Technician
I’ve been in attics since 2016, and I still climb them on most jobs. Started this location after running crews in San Antonio and seeing too many blown-in jobs dumped over unsealed top plates. I hold a BPI Building Analyst certification and prefer to do my own blower-door testing so I can hand a homeowner two numbers: the CFM50 before we started and the CFM50 after. My dry observation I’ll stand by: R-19 in a Converse summer is optimism, not insulation. When I’m not working, I’m usually arguing about whether brisket should be sliced or chopped at a backyard cookout in Live Oak.
Marcus T., Senior Installer
Marcus has been with us four years and handles the jobs where spray foam meets existing fiberglass without creating a moisture sandwich. He’s certified in Icynene and Demilec open-cell applications and can eyeball a rafter bay and tell you whether it’ll need vent chutes before the foam goes in. He grew up in Kirby, so he knows which Converse subdivisions built in the 1980s have the narrow scuttle holes that require a two-person material pass. Off the clock, he rebuilds vintage motorcycles and has strong opinions about fork oil viscosity that nobody asked for.
Dana R., Service Coordinator
Dana answers the phones and schedules the crews, which means she’s the one who tells you whether we can get to your attic in Selma tomorrow or Thursday. She’s been with Haven Standard operations since 2019 and can read a competing estimate over the phone to set up a Free Second Opinion. She keeps a running list of which Converse neighborhoods have HOA restrictions on exterior foam work and which don’t. She also trains the new apprentices on how to write a scope description a homeowner can actually read. Her desk has a framed photo of her dog, a catahoula mix, who has never been in an attic and never will be.
Eli V., Apprentice Installer
Eli joined us in 2024 after two years in residential HVAC and one winter of fixing his own pier-and-beam crawl space in Universal City. He’s working toward his BPI certification and currently handles insulation removal, air-sealing prep, and the documented photo record on every job. He’s the one who finds the wasp nests, the old roof leaks, and the junction boxes buried in cellulose. His current obsession is learning to read thermal imaging accurately enough to spot missing wall insulation from the attic side. He plays bass in a country band that practices in a converted garage in Windcrest, so he has personal experience with how much a non-insulated practice space costs in electricity.
One Standard, Every Job

Wes Okafor doesn’t get to waive a clause because he’s the owner. Marcus doesn’t get to skip the blower-door test because he’s fast.
